Achievement of Target under PMAY-G

📌 Summary:

• Over the last five years (2021-22 to 2025-26), a total Central share of ₹1,34,242.45 crore was released to States/UTs under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G)
• Largest releases: Madhya Pradesh ₹19,013.72 crore and Maharashtra ₹14,898.43 crore
• Steps to accelerate construction: timely target allocation and fund release, dashboard monitoring, regular workshops and Rural Mason Training
• Convergence: ₹12,000 extra for toilets via Swachh Bharat Mission–Gramin; unskilled wage employment via MGNREGS; piped water via Jal Jeevan Mission; electricity (Ministry of Power) and LPG via PM Ujjwala Yojana
• As on 16.07.2026: 3.08 crore houses got toilets, 2.43 crore water connections, 3.07 crore electricity, 2.9 crore LPG; 1.35 crore beneficiary households linked to SHGs
• Independent evaluations (NIPFP, NIRD&PR, NITI Aayog, IIM-Ahmedabad) reported positive impact on housing and quality of life
