Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) Monthly Bulletin — June 2026

• MoSPI released the PLFS Monthly Bulletin for June 2026 (15th in the monthly series); overall labour indicators broadly stable
• Overall LFPR (15+) at 54.4% in June 2026, unchanged from May 2026 and up from 54.2% in June 2025
• Overall Worker Population Ratio (WPR, 15+) unchanged at 51.4%, up 0.2 pp over June 2025; Male WPR rose to 72.9% (from 72.5% in May)
• Overall Unemployment Rate (UR, 15+) stable at 5.5%, marginally below 5.6% a year earlier; rural male UR declined after a continuous rise since February 2026
• Urban LFPR improved to 50.1% (from 49.8% in May); rural LFPR steady at 56.6%
• Female LFPR (15+) at 32.7% (vs 32.8% in May), up 0.7 pp over June 2025 (32.0%); rural female LFPR rose to 36.6% (up 1.4 pp y-o-y)
• Estimates follow the Current Weekly Status (CWS) approach; PLFS methodology was modified from January 2025 to give monthly and quarterly estimates
