NESAC’s Space-Based Applications Strengthening Border Management and Development Across Northeast

• Union MoS (I/C) Science & Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh said the North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC), Umiam (Meghalaya), has become a vital institution supporting national strategic priorities and socio-economic development of the North East through space technology
• NESAC is contributing to geospatial mapping of the India-Myanmar border and inter-State boundaries in the Northeast
• Centre is implementing nearly 130 space application projects — around 50 recently completed and 78 ongoing — spanning agriculture, forestry, water resources, geosciences, urban/regional planning, geoinformatics, satellite communication, UAV applications, atmospheric sciences and disaster management support
