Union Minister Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh to Chair Regional Review Meeting for North East Region in Aizawl, Mizoram on 25th May 2026

📌 Summary:

• The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying (MoFAH&D) is organising the "Regional Review Meeting: Northeastern Region 2026" on 25 May 2026 at Aizawl, Mizoram, chaired by Union Minister Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh)

• The meeting will review the progress of schemes and programmes in the fisheries, animal husbandry and dairying sectors across the North Eastern Region and discuss strategies for sustainable sectoral growth, farmers' welfare and livelihood enhancement

• Ministers in charge of fisheries and animal husbandry from all eight NE states — Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura — will participate; the event will be held in hybrid mode

• Key launches include a Baseline Village Level Survey to expand the coverage of Multipurpose Dairy Cooperative Societies (MDCS), an African Swine Fever awareness film, a booklet on "Good Husbandry Practices in Pig Farming", MULCO Cow Ghee, and an FPO office-cum-sale outlet

• The Union Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation for projects worth about Rs 32.15 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) and the Fisheries and Aquaculture Infrastructure Development Fund (FIDF)

• Fisheries Kisan Credit Card (KCC) cards and awards for Best Fisheries Startups and Cooperatives will be distributed to beneficiaries from the region

• Discussions will focus on enhancing production, addressing value-chain gaps, improving market linkages and promoting exports; experience-sharing sessions will feature MULCO farmer members and National Livestock Mission Entrepreneurship Development Programme (NLM-EDP) beneficiaries
