• Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) organised a one-day National Conference titled "From Patent to Product: Accelerating IP Commercialization in Electronics & IT" at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on 12 May 2026
• IP Catalyst initiative and digital platform (https://cipie.in) formally launched by Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary MeitY, in presence of Shri Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary MeitY & CEO India Semiconductor Mission
• Patent application surge in India: FY 2024–25 saw a historic 1,10,375 patent applications filed, with Electronics & IT sector contributing nearly 44%; FY 2025–26 rose further to 1,43,729 with Electronics & IT recording a 52% rise
• Aim of IP Catalyst: accelerate movement of patents from "prototype to product" — closing the IP-commercialization gap by linking IPR with startups, MSMEs, R&D institutions and industry
• Conference convened policymakers, innovators, industry leaders, startups, MSMEs, academia, and R&D institutions to strengthen India's IP and innovation ecosystem in Electronics and IT
